I travel to India on business quite frequently.  During these trips I try and take advantage of the trip and do some side trips to see parts of this vast and country.  My first trip was in 2009 and in addition to seeing some of the local sites in Hyderabad, where my India office is located, I also flew up to the north and visited arguably the oldest existing city in the world, Varanasi.  An exceptionally holy site for those of the Hindu faith it is ancient beyond description and something that has to be experienced to be believed.

I also took the driving trip from Delhi to Agra to see the Taj Mahal.  Five hours of terror on the road in torrential rains only to discover that yes I could have taken a plane.   Enjoy the unique site of the Taj in the monsoon season.
