Back to Indonesia we went! Our sixth trip together to Indo and we broke this one up into two adventures. The first week just the two of us and the second with 10 friends from around the globe. It was an epic trip and worked out great for both parts.
First we explored a new island for us, Alor, for a week diving and snorkeling. We stayed at Alami Alor, a lovely small dive resort of 8 bungalows, main open-air building and a dive center. Alami caters to both divers and snorkelers with dedicated guides and boats for the snorkeling, not just as an afterthought to the diving but primary service. During our week stay half of the people there were snorkelers. The diving was fantastic with healthy reefs and very few other divers around. During an entire week of diving, I saw only one other collection of divers underwater! I spend the entire time shooting macro and have a wonderful time! (best camera room ever too!)

For Red the snorkeling experience was the best she’s ever had with a dedicated guild and very accessible reef tops to enjoy. The resort itself was simple but elegant and very well kept and exceptionally well run.

After Alor we returned to Bali and began collecting our friends from across the US and from Sydney, Australia. Ten in all we were transported to Amed, on the east coast to spend a week together at Villa Candi Matahari. A lovely seven villa complex built and hosted by friends of ours. It had been nine long years since we were there, which was way too long. Good times we’re had by all and new friends were made!
